Guest guest
Hi Felicia.. First my apology for I thought it was your diary - anyway I am glad it is Lalitha devi's diary - it is not wise to invade into someone's personal diary. over all devi's journey was interesting. ______________________________\ I WROTE:_ I would say Bhandasaura died and Manmantha was reborn > > not transformed. >Your reply: >Language is an interesting tool. >We process words in the ways we each understand them via our experiences. >Why pick sides when it's merely a matter of convenience and >perspective? ;-) >_____________________________\ _ You are right and so are everybody in this board - different view points makes it more healthy. i think when conversation flows from different view point - it gets more interesting. As long as we use internet to express our view - initially, it may start from our narrow perspective but slowly we begin to see other's point of and we grow. That is why I say not to pick on one vocabulary and make an issue out of it. Let it flow. I just narrate my experience - when I lived in west, gardening was a big issue for me. But, I had no choice but learn to do. So, I started off as an amateur gardner like cleaning leaves, moving lawn etc. - but soon got hooked to it and it became my full time passion, Infact in summer I had no time for other hobbies nor wanted to travel.. This was a great source of irritation to my husband and my daughter. For, them it was of no interest. To bridge this gap - I tried to find some time, to update myself with my daughter's passion like painting, pop music and current films and travelling - but I had no interest. My husband enjoyed watching documentries. We all tried - but our interest and passion were different. So, we all went our way. My source of communication was my few friends who had similar passion(i joined garding club) and my sister who is as mad as I am when comes to gardening. and we chat on regular basis. Why I write this is - in spring I sow seeds for perinnials and it use to give me lot of happiness when it sprouts and within weeks grow and beigin to flower. Whole garden would look different. The fulfillment that one gets cannot be expressed in words. But, sadness soon follows with the arrival of autumn. They slowly wither away and die one by one. In winter, there is nothing to relate. That process of death was like mourning for me. But, soon I got use to it because this cycle I saw again and again I compared Lalithopakshaya with inner enemies and gardeing. I saw weeds and mosses as enemies, they suck all nutiritant if I allow them to stay they will invade my plants so i must eradicate them.Ii.e kill them This was my first task, . As soon as I saw any weeds growing besides my perinnials (MIND YOU WEEDS DO GROW WITH VENGENCE) I would uproot them, but again in 2 days I would see some more weeds here and there. In otherwords, it was not at all easy to eradiacate them completely - if i accept them as friend AND LEAVE THEM then they willl invade and suck all nutritiant ,so I must get rid of them. It all depends how we see it. It is not easy to get rid of inner enemies they are like weeds that too when someone is embarking on soul journey (spiritual seekers) they use meditation and isolation so that they can dwel within themselves and wipe out their vasanas. But, it is not easy even for them for it springs up again and again, this is what I read and learnt from my yoga teacher.who also teaches Kundalini yoga. HIS WORDS NOT MINE, When Kundalini rises via raja yoga - thier subconcious mind is brought to surface - they become very sensitive to thier vasanas - it is up to them to accept what they want and get rid off what is unwanted. that is how self transformation takes place. HE ALWAYS emphasis, that Kundalini rising does not qualify one to be a saint.- it is only their begining journey for self transformation. For worldly person, vasans may be their friends. I STILL DONOT KNOW HOW But, this is a spiritual site and disscussion was from that angle. Anyway, I enjoyed other's point of view - hope they also. raji. Guest guest
Hi Raji, I hope to see another chapter in Lalita's story, soon. I'm sure she has a lot more to recount. Just so you know, Lalita Devi put that journal up as a weblog (blog) so that many people could read about her journey. That is a public journal. Anyone and everyone is invited to explore the nathsociety website and join the forum to discuss. Did you check out the wonderful photos? , "rajeshwari iyer" <rajii31@h...> wrote: > > it is not wise to invade into someone's personal > diary. over all devi's journey was interesting. I like your statements about weeds. Too true. What is a weed? An interesting plant growing where it is unwanted. So, yes. Very much like an asura and other classes of "demons". I take a great interest in identifying and knowing all the names and properties of the weeds I kill in my garden and around our farm. Some, such as wild mustard, were imported from Europe by the Spaniards when they conquered the unfortunate natives, here. Another weed, Horehound, was used to make cough syrup. Bed straw is like velcro - it was used to make a sort of cushion on which to sleep. In Western literature, a spiritual teacher and students are referred to as gardener and seedlings/fertile earth. The ballad of Sir John Barleycorn illustrates the internal alchemycal process, too. But, then, so does the description of how to make sourdough bread which is available on Julia Child's website and her book on breadmaking! Sounds like it's straight out of the tantras. :-D > That process of death was like mourning for me. But, soon > I got use to it because this cycle I saw again and again A very beneficial and necessary part of the cycle of life! > Kundalini rising does > not qualify one to be a saint. I should say not! LoL (trying to imagine what my karma might have been had I thought so the first time I experienced a kundalini rush) That would have been a good joke! ;-) > it is only their begining journey for self > transformation. And how! :-) > For worldly person, vasanas may be their friends. I STILL DONOT KNOW HOW Felicia rushes off to look up the term 'vasana', cursing that she didn't learn this term from her kriya yoga instructor nor from Shambhalanath. ;-) Ahem, oh yes. Like samskara: Latent tendencies/conditioning/impression Oh, dear, yes, yes, yes. Love my vasanas. My greatest enemies are the best teachers, dontcha know? One must be capable of noticing one's conditioned reactions in order to change one's beliefs, attitudes, habits, thoughts, aspirations, behaviors. Karma: One of the funniest and truest definitions of insanity is doing the same thing over and over in the same way and expecting different results. Enjoying this discussion. Thank you, Felicia
