Guest guest
Somebody asked why the tongue and teeth of Mother Kaali's picture with me was protruded outwards. He was trying to ridicule me.I was ashamed because i could not give an explanation.I would like to hear from Mother worshippers here. Guest guest
Some know the imagery this way: Kali, in her rage (bloodlust=fangs bared and tongue lolling or rigidly extended) had killed the demon Raktabija and all his armies of demons. The Gods called on Siva to stop her rampage. When she saw her husband, Siva lying in her path she was embarrassed that she had almost killed him, as well. Some know the imagery in another way: Kali Ma's bloodlust is menstrual in nature and is sated only temporarily by Siva's erect lingam. Guest guest
Nice reply. thanks. I thought Mother Kali's tongue was protruded to show that She swallows everything into Herself at the time of cosmic dissolution.
Guest guest
Hmmm, could be. Solve et coagula? Is she Kala for that instant before the universe (one's worldview) changes, coalescing into a changed pattern, anew? There is an instant when the two (Kali & Kala) are one as All/Nothing/Infinite... I'll have to look up Ardhanishvara to see if this describes Hir (Him/Hir).
