Do you consider your mother ugly? If you love somebody and really love

her/him, does beauty have any part in it? Beauty in the eyes of the

beholder. hmmmmmmm im tempted to put the pic of Sri Periachi Amman.

Sri Matre Namah

Hi You have taken it wrong,I like the Mother as she is. And BhadraKali of the

Kodungalloor Bhagavathy temple is my favourite deity. Please see Her original

Moorthy at the following link:

http://hindusaktha.freeservers.com/images/bagavathi3.html

I was telling about the impression an alien would have on that pic. It seems

like a clay idol and it is not the form that we meditate on Mother.

Mother Lalithambika's charming figure I found was:

What do you mean alien? I think Alien from outer space would not

have any problem associating her with anybody. To be honest I am not

so concern about alien impression. What important to me is how I see

her and accept her as she is. I can put a pic of the begger in the

street and say : This is Devi. And it will be Devi to me.

But you see, you can meditate mother in any form, be it a clay or

whatever. You can also meditate her in a form of light. SO what's

the big deal about this image thingy. What you see is the

representation as protrayed by Guruji Amritananda Natha Saraswati of

Devipuram. That is how the Khadgamala Devis appear before him. You

can see those clay images at Devipuram itself.

If its good for Him, its good enough for us.

Hey, Nora, Haridev -- Namaste!

It is natural for individuals to have favorite portrayals of their chosen

deities. But there's such a variety of modes of Divine Portraiture, it is

impossible to please everybody. Personally, I like my images to be drawn or

painted, with polychromatic skin colors (rather than have European-looking

complexions!). Not too cute, please!

Devas that would appeal to Space Aliens -- there's an idea... If I could

still draw, I'd whip up an image of almond-eyed space-abductors dancing like

Nataraja, or the monster from Alien playing at being Narasimha (the snakey baby

Alien bursting out of Hiranyakashipu's stomach?).

Sometimes, the Divine appears to us in the form of our human companions.

I've watched my friend Sally playing the guitar, and bowed to the Saraswati in

her. Or been thanked by a homeless shopping-bag lady for giving her change,

and pressed my palms to Bhairavi.

The Shakti Sadhana List is a manifestation of divine satsangha in my life.

Thank you, Lords and Ladies! And may 2006 AD dawn brightly and full of joy and

promises for you all.

Hi Friends,

Happy new 2006,

What i believe personally is the idol does not matter in any Puja.

If we go Vaishnodevi, there are only 3 pindis representing Maa Kali, Maa

Lakshi, Maa Saraswati. However I do believe that the idol must be a one in which

one can see the devine power he is looking out.May be guruji was watching the

devine power in this clay idol.

It is upto moderator and owner of the group to change the home page idol.

but i do feel that it is not necessory to change the idol.
