Notes: 1. cEkkizAr describes how the rock, to which appar was bound to and thrown into ocean, itself became the float and brought him ashore as he sang the "namaHshivAya" thiruppadhikam. 2. We are bound to much cruel stone of ego and have earned the deeds of both kind that keeps us bound and suffer in the ocean of birth-cycle. One who holds firm the Holy five syllables gets to the shore safely by the grace of Lord shiva. If one is able to get out of that worst situation itself by holding to the Holy five syllables, cEkkizAr asks, what is a great wonder in appar getting to shore by chanting that mantra. Let us all chant that holy mantra "namaH shivAya" and get to the shore of Bliss. 3. mAkkaL - pashus. --\ ----------- Name of hara encompass ! World be free from sufferings !!
