She is the power behind all things seen, i.e. nAma and rUpa. She is beyond the organs of sight -- "Where there is nothing else that can be seen"; Yatra nAnyat pasyati (ChA. Up. 7, 24). Almost the identical meaning is conveyed by the next name. - Dr. C.
