He suffers the consequence of his past life as karmic retribution and the person is subjected to sufferings when on earth. After death there is also a place called hell where one is subjected to suffering for the wrong doings while one is on earth. Why is there a double punishment for a single crime, both hell and karmic retribution? ZN: If hell = earth, it would make sense. Nora: If you say hell is earth, and Devi is the earth itself. Are you implying Devi is hell? Its my believe that it is us/you/we who turn hell into heaven and vice versa. Instead of spending the time lamenting about this karmic retribution, what I think we should be doing is to reflect back at our present moment It is said : live for the present. I am here now. This is what I am. What can I do about it. How can I turn this lifetime into a more productive and meaningful. Dont you agree? ZN: I was referring to "hell" and "earth" as the realm of forms, here. To me, freedom from the self-limiting assumption of forms is progression as a human being. But in answer to Ur question, is there anything SHe is not? > > > > 93, > > Nina Nora: What is wrong with the earth that you consider it as hell? That is the point im asking you. I remember reading a note [ published in Times Mag ] written by an American Soldier died in Vietnam War, and it goes "I Know when I die I will go to heaven because Ive been to hell". (new) ZN: I didn't say anything was wrong with the earth. I like living my life very much! I said it (the earth) was the realm of forms and implied that this may be the philosophical equivalent of "hell" because of that, in a karmic sense. Atleast that's what I thought I said Nora: > She is everything. There is nothing that SHE is not. Good and bad > comes from her. But she's dead now Sorry. Couldn't resist that. Freedom? Hmmm. I swore myself to Her at 19, and that oath is unbroken. On the other hand, I answer only to Her. That's my freedom. Felecia answered that for me, when she equated Surrender to Embrace, I take her as one of my Gurus. Yes we have found this wonderful Sangha you have created for a reason, our evoloutions. What is freedom but Love. --- NMadasamy <nmadasamy wrote: My other question is : What is freedom?
