Becoming Shiva

I had an interesting discussion with a good friend.

In our previous discussion it is said, only when you have become the

lover, you can merge with Devi. As we understands it, Shiva is her

lover. So does it means, we assume the form of shiva? You said, when

you meditate you become devi, for men, do we become shiva?

So question is : What is becoming Shiva? Do we take the form of Shiva

or do we acquire the attribute of Shiva?

well i dont know much abt it this is what my wife told me.hehe

anyway becoming shiva or shakti on the outside looks like an enjoyable

mystical roleplaying lol.

ok gtg havent recited matangi stotra to my wife today morning.if i

dont do now she will become angry and take a kali form.so much trouble

to become shiva :-P =))

ok jokes apart! :)

as per my understanding we say "shiva tattwam shodayami namah" during

achaman i.e before pooja irrespective of the sadhak being a male or

female.so it is the shiva tatwa and the shakti tatwa.it is the man or

woman being established in the principles of either the dynamic

shakti or the static shiva.

Many a time we see Devi upon Shiva or a Shava. I had mentioned in an earlier

post, that as I see it, is that the supreme consciousness allows the supreme

manifestation absolute acces through love. Shiva loves Kali so completely that

he accosts her in his most vunerable state and posture, a child lying belly up,

while Kali is at her most teriffic in the heat of battle. And does she hurt him

or suckle him :-)

Shiva can unite with Devi in any form she approaches because he is her lover in

all forms. Is a child not the lover of his or her mother and vice versa. And

if it is sexual, let it be the 'A' orgasim, not just a personal quickie (vajroli

and beyond) !

Accept the Goddess in any form she appeals and let that acceptance be total.

Again do not force it. We embrace/surrender. I was reading an interesting

phrase from At the Eleventh Hour by Pandit Rajmani Tigunait (

http://www.himalayaninstitute.org/ ), Chapter 3 pg 81 on the Life of Swami Rama.

" In lecture after lecture Swamiji would say, 'You are already divine. All you

have to do is become human." I pondered this for twenty eight years, and

several times I thought I knew what he meant, only to realise that was

understanding was as yet incomplete. Then, as I watched Swamiji during the last

days of his life, the revealation dawned. I saw in him a man so skilled in

granting protection to the divine within him (so that it was not engulfed by the

force of maya) that he was free to bask in its inherent effulgence and bliss."

Page 49

"Chinnamasta is an amazing goddess. Accordint to one tradition, she stands on

the bosom of Shiva, holding a sword in one hand and her own severed head in the

other, flanked by two goddeses, one on each side, drinking the blood gushing

from her neck. To her devotees Chinnamasta is a living embodiment of non

attachment and victory over ego: she stands on the firm ground of Shiva, Supreme

Consciousness, and with the sword of knowledge severs her head, the storehouse

of reason and logic. She subdues the ego by holding her head below the level of

the heart, thus enabling faith to attain victory over intellect. The two

goddesses by her side are the forces of worldly enjoyment and spirirual freedom,

and she nourishes both of them with the ever-flowing stream of vitality and

wisdom, which is represented by her gushing blood."

................ pg 50 ...... how can I win her grace ......

" 'When the time comes, I will teach you," his master replied. 'Chinnamasta is

the guardian of the yogis. She grants the boon of yoga siddhi (yoga

accomplishment) but demands that you offer her your head. If you then offer

your body and blood to her attendant, she will offer you the gift of

immortality. It take two lifetimes to complete the practice.'"

I saw in him a man so skilled in granting protection to the divine within him

.......

On the last day of the Vipassana camp, Goenka ji mentions that a seed has been

planted within you, build a fence around it, protect it, practice daily 1 hour

in the morning and evening. Once it grows into a big strong tree, you will not

need to protect it rather it will shelter you and give you sweet fruit.

No effort is lost. Love Maya Love Consciousness.

Sadashiva/Ardhanareshwara/Ardhanareshwari . Love in All

manifestations/traditions - surrender/embrace.

To answer the question, I believe we do whatever it takes, attributes, posture,

forms, formlessness, whatever. If we want Devi, it's not an issue.

I think it would be great, even if just for external motivations, if I were able

to participate in pujas/homas for each of the 10 Mahavidhyas being properly

prepared, with a right person performing the rituals so there is no muck-up

with the mantras and methodology. Greedy...greedy ....

With love

It's our or scriptures assumption that there are two different entities like

shiva and shakti, in my experience, both are one and same.

there is nothing like male and female in sprituality, sth is written

with a view to make it easy to understand. soul has no sex, how god can have ?

u keep doing ur sadhna and one day in turn u will feel conected with almighty

call it shiva or shakti and u will see u r everywhere, unless u experience it u

cant undertand it. i can just say, i experienced this and like me u can also

experience it, any one can experience it regardless of ur mode of sadhna, god

makes u feel it. no one else can help u in that. it's a individual achievement.

regards,

Lalit.

G it has nothing to do with persona's , male nor female ....

neither is it that there is a u that is going to connect with it unless

you are speaking of experiencing the phenomena aspect called

Shakti.... One dynamic is Creation and the other is Primal IS

forever Pure Untouched Unborn Para Brahman ( Para Shiva) ..

While Para Brahman or Shiva runs like a thread through Shakti ..

Shakti has no place within Para Brahman as a separate Being....

There fore the u may only experience Shakti which contains a

persona that experiences God ..... beyond that the u implodes

beyond the illusion of Shakti and form and ideas of formless ......

maha shanti om
