Guest guest
To me, purification of mind is a no-mind state. This is a state where one is void of all thoughts. One is in harmony with oneself. Its like an onion; after peeling one layer after another, you finally reach the core and find nothing. Decades of life in the material world caused our mind to have layers just like an onion. When one reaches the core, one reaches the higher self, euphoria is achieved, a different cognitive pathway opens up. When you reach your true self, you become an infant again. A great mystic once said that people are never happy. We live in different degrees of sadness. When one moves from a greater degree of sadness to a lesser degree of sadness, the change is perceived at happiness. But we are still within the perimeters of sadness. I feel that the mind is just doing its job having thoughts. Its purpose is to protect us from harm. Unfortunately it runs contrary to our spiritual endeavours. Meditation is a way to train the mind to have an alternative cognitive pathway where you expand your consciousness and be at peace with yourself and the universe.
