Guest guest
depressing day in western hemisphere under snow?? Using factors that make most of us humans sad, Dr. Cliff Arnall at Cardiff University in Wales has devised the following formula: JANUARY BLUES DAY FORMULA {W + (D – d)} x TQ divided by M x NA The equation is broken down into these variables: W = weather D = debt d = monthly salary T = time since holiday season Q = time since failed attempt at self-improvement/quitting bad habit M = low motivational level NA = need to take action BTW, Jan 23 is, of course, a Monday. Basically it works out that the holidays were a month ago, the bills are coming due, the New Year's resolutions died weeks ago and there is a lot more winter with nothing to look forward to ... therefore Jan 23 is, statistically speaking at least, the worst day of the year. Doctors say exercise and reading up on depression are ways to beat the blues.
