Guest guest
What I understand is as follows. Same time Same Place Same repitations Sincerity However I am surprised you ask. On what basis have you selected the mantra ? Is it the right mantra for you ? Normally a mantra is given by a Guru, customised for one station at the time and in knowledge of the path ahead - to aid progress. The Guru also tells the sadhak what to visualise while doing japa. But again I said normally. If you feel you have to mantra japa, well start. It is sai that one must never disclose the mantra they are japing as it nullifying the effect oof the mantra. Telling ones mantra has been equated to eating food, vomiting it out and then trying to eat it again ! Yucks !! Double yucks !!! Excuse please :-( Vikrant <free_for_blue wrote: i would like to know what all rules+regulations apply(in addition to wearing clean clothes) when doing mantra japa in sattvic tradition..i would specifically like to know what all rules+regulations must be strictly followed(without any compromise) when doing mantra japa so that the benefits of that mantra are received and the entire exercise of daily mantra japa does not go in vain.. Thats is why I say go NAKED. Remove all those false impression you have of yourself. Remove the illusion. The mask you wear. Go back to how we come when we're born in this world : WE CAME IN NAKED. The person who ask this in not that naive. So dont be surprise redder, He/She knows. He purposely use the term sattvic tradition, with a very different intention. This is the same person who came much earlier and ask : I want to worship the divine mother in Sattvic tradition. His/Her intention is never good. Always with the intention to mock and riducule us. Guest guest
There is no wrong answer as to what you can wear during your meditation. It all depends on your belief system. Nakedness may mean being free from earthly and psychological bonding. A great way to enter the goddess dimension. Clean clothes and light coloured clothes may mean cleanliness and purity. I was told it attracts specific vibrations beneficial to meditation. Depending on ones belief system, one may also do your jaba in a tuxedo or in full military combat gear. There are no wrong answers, it is all based on your belief system. As the other members pointed out, the QUALITY of your jaba plays a much greater importance than what you wear. If you feel clean clothes will bring success then its must be the path for you.
Guest guest
Use the mantra as much as you can. Apart from doing it during your in your daily meditation, you may wish to expand it by taking the opportunity to chant silently or aloud any time you wish. Sitting in the bus, taking a shower, singing a song, taking a walk are opportunities for jaba. It has been said that if one is focused on the mantra at the time of death, one will reach the entity that the mantra is focused on. This makes mantra chanting a powerful and a easy yoga in this age. Guest guest
Thank you N Madasamy :-) What ever is inside will manifest outside. I believe advancement in practice is not expressed but experienced. If this person is at the stage of ridicule as you say for good reason, it must be the wish of our Divine Mother. May she love him or her all the more. Perhaps there is a reason we cannot see why he has found this forum. I have enough challenge trying to get my act together, there is such a lng way to go. I am reading At the Eleventh Hour by Pt Rajamani. It is the biography of Swami Rama. It is is beautiful. Chapter Four - The road to self-mastery. Before his ordination as a monk, Bhole (Swami Rama) had beenfifilled with anticipation, his hpes running high : Babaji (his Guru) will tear the veil of maya and I will delight in the supreme knowledge forever; Babaji will throw all my karmas into the fire as part of the ceremony, thus bringing my past to an end; Babaji will help me perform my own funeral and I will emerge a new person- a clean slate without the slightest trace of fear, anxiety, desire or attachment. The ceremony went as planned. As a rule he fasted the day before the ceremony and purified his bdy and senses by bathing in the Ganga and drinking only Ganga water. His purified his nadis with pranayama and his mind with meditation. Then came the ritualistic part of the ceremony, the major ccomponents of which are: cutting the hair to symbolize disconnection frm the past; bathing to symbolize cleansing; putting on ochre robes, to symbolize non-attachment; receiving the staff, the symbol of discipline; donning wooden sandalsm the symbol of austerity; receiving a new name, the symbol of a new identity; and placing a sacred rck on the head, to symbolize holding the sacred fire as the highest goal of life. .................... By the time the ceremony was over, it was almosrt evening. the sadhus showered their blessings on the yound swami and calledd him Bhole Baba, and as a token of his blessing, Babaji gave the young monk leaves f holy basil (tulsi) in a bowl of Ganga water. Then he sent him off to do brahma jagraana practice. "Brahma jagrana" meaans "to staay awake at nightwhile contemplating the highest truth,", and as part f this praactice the newly ordained monk spends his first nighht in a lonely place, preferably on a hilltop, a river bak or aa cremation ground. ...................... The next morning, however, Bhole Baba saw a marked change in the attitude f Babaji and the other sages, who had always given him unconditional love. He hhad not eaten for severaal days in preparation for his ordination, and when he returned t the cave the next morning he was very hungry. All the visitors had gne, only Bbaji and Aghri Baba remained., and their eyes were closed in meditation till late morning. At the earliest opportunity, bhole Baba asked about lunch. Babaji replied, "Now you are a swami, master of yourself and creator of your own destiny. Design your life, your routine, how you want to manage your urges and to comply to your needs, and to what extent you want to interact with thhe world." "You are the creator of my destiny," Bhole Baba replied. "Please givwe me definite guidelines so I can follow the path without deviation." "there are many kinds of renunciates," Babaji said. "Some live in an ashram and do their sadhana while fllowing the rules of the ashram. They work for the ashram, and the ashram provides them with the bare necessities: food, clothing, and shelter. The beg alms nly if the ashraam requires it, annd what they get goes to thhe ashram. Another kind of renunciaate travels constantly, stopping briefly wherever they are welcome. they may stay in an ashram or temple from time to time, yet they bear no responsibility to the place. They beg and content themselves with what is given them. Yet another has strict rules for begging. The will only make three stops to ask for alms, for examle, or they will accept food only enough for eight bites. Some renunciates do not ask for alms at all; they accept only whaat comess without asking. Some renounce even the begging bwl, using their palms instead. You may choose any of these ways, but remember self realisation is the goal, not a particular way of living."
