Srimad DEVI Bhagavata & Srimad Bhagavata: Different Books

Since there appears to be some persistent confusion on this point,

please note that the 'Srimad DEVI Bhagavayam' and 'Srimad Bhagavatam'

are two completely distinct puranas, with different content, different

perspectives, different authors, different histories, and rather

markedly different philosophies.

 

As Swami Vijnanananda notes, "What [the] Srimad Bhagavat is to the

Vaisnavas, the Devi Bhagavatam is to the Saktas."
