VASANT PANCHAMI/ SARASWATI PUJA

Notes:

Magh Sud 5 (5th day of the bright fortnight of the lunar month of

Magh) is the day of Vasant Panchami. It is referred to as the spring

festival, and signifies the beginning of Vasant Ritu (spring season).

Vasant Panchami is dedicated to Saraswati, the goddess of learning and

the wife of Brahma. (Thus it is a counterpart of Deepawali, which is

dedicated to Lakshmi; and to Navaratri, which is dedicated to Durga).
