Guest guest
I have questioned this kind of thing too. My experience is that when you do Sadhana you want to be 100% aware--even more so than normally. If you are protected, anything like that is only something to try not to do, something that eventually will stop. I myself have wasted years of good sadhana by thinking these states were more spiritual, and not staying aware. If you dissociate or go into a trance or dream-like state; you are open to spiritual forces and can be open to persons who may have the ability to use thought projection, not in your best interest. All of us have seen how evil forces throughout history have used these states to create mass hysteria and control huge numbers of people-- Adolf Hitler being one. The nazis did these things; and there have been whom I would call evil people, who encourage all kinds of spiritual states like these to control the innocent and use them. I believe Mother, or shanti forces, want us aware, respects our bodies and spirits and wants us to grow spiritually--not possess us and use us as though we were a slave. That is not aham brahmasmi, is it? Many of us have heard of people who do tapas to gain these kinds of powers. I have heard a primary devotee of my Guru correct people for zoning out, and give his devotees all kinds of jobs to do at a puja to keep them aware. I used to get mad and question why he would not let the people meditate during the puja. I was stupid and didn't realize how wise he was. Even yogachayas tell us that when we do japam, if we miss our place on the mala, start all over again. Better to get up from the japam or puja than lose our awareness. How are we going to love Mother and serve humanity if we are zoned out? This is just my feeling. I only follow shanti forms of Mother, so this is what I think. love, Samatmika
