Guest guest
Dear Radhakrishnan, Is it safe to do chakra meditation. This was my question. Till now, I was only chanting LS - now I have enough time, i would like to extend my sadhana - hence, interested in meditation.(which I never tried before). Can I chant Lalita Trisati - without initiation. Your feedback is welcome. raji.
Guest guest
Hi Raji Iyer no harm doing chakra meditation. Meditation is a very simple procedure. Sit on a chair or the ground cross legged. Spraed a mat on which to sit. u can take the support of the wall or the back of the chair. The point is to keep your spine straight. U must sit relaxed and not stiff. Close ur eyes. Take a few deep breaths. Turn ur awareness to each part of ur body from toes to head and head to toes. Don't leave any part -- external and internal. U r now ready. We don't meditate. Meditation happens to us just the wauy sleep is. Now turn your awareness to Mulaadhaara and mentally recite 'lang' for a few minutes. Then ascend to the next higher chakra. this way u go up to crown chakra and observe the silence. Start downward from crown chakra and reach mulaadhaara. Take a few deep breaths. Observe your breath flowing in and out through your nostrils for a few minutes. become aware of your body and the surroundings. Rub your palms vigorously and massage your face. Cup your eyes with your palms, slowly open your eyes and remove the palms. Do not attempt concentration. If your mind wanders during the procedure, allow it; but don't get involved any thoughts. You will always come back to the chakra bija. Thank Devi and get up. As for initiation into trishati, Devi is dakshinamurthi roopini. Pray to Devi, invoke her as ur guru, and receive the trishati from her. This kind of intiation is allowed in the sastras, but guarded as a secret by the adepts. You need not discuss with anyone about this kind of intiation or your reciting trishati. This is not a hyde bound rule. We get up in the morning, brush our teeth, take bath, apply soap over our body etc., but do not discuss these things with anyone. This is just the same. For requesting devi for initiation, no mantra needed; u can request her in iyer tamil or hindi or english. She is a linguist. About the order of chakras differing in LS, it is avarohana order -- starting with vishuddhi, going down to mulaadhaara, ascending to agna and crown. This are after we attain some progress. Guest guest
Hi Sankara It is lam for South Indians, but, for the bija to be more effective, the 'm' must be nasalised.
