Guest guest
Namaste Richard I have been reading Devi Mahatmya (in English, for lack of Sanskrit), > in which it has that Devi is intelligence, She is also error. She is > all. Another way to look at this is the Mother is the source of all dualities (buddhi and bhranti, avidya and vidya, man and women) but is also beyond them. The commentator of the version I am reading (Devadatta Kali) > interprets the scripture as embodying the conflict and conquest of > the body and senses (my interpretation of D.K.). I too have read Devadatta Kali's work, and highly recommend it. I would also recommend reading at least one other translation of Chandi - as an English speaker I think it's more helpful for getting the context and beauty of the scripture. The Battle of Durga is a spiritual battle that takes place within the devotee as well. Does this infer > that goddess Devi of the scripture is really ourselves? I feel this > is so, and that She in fact is us here and now anyway, but would like > to have feedback from the group. This, anyway, is what this myth has > come to mean, and how I experience it. > > The Mother is everything. Saying it is easy, realizing it and feeling it takes much practice and devotion. Guest guest
Hi Richard, I agree with you. It is not all bright white with heavenly harps, else saying she was ALL will be meaningless. She could just as well be a heavenly Mother as a viscious Beast. Well then what is Maya, a state of Mind. Perhaps this is why all the Sages have such 'long' faces, except Krishna :-) - an understanding I accept from Osho in seriousness and humour. I guess when we know the ULTIMATE TRUTH, these dark and light intutions will cease, or perhaps not :-)) Foor me I love my Black Beauty, sweetest Kali, or again is that just the depth of the sky ?! Does it all boil down to zilch ? Sadhana ! Sadhana ! Sadhana ! Help !!! Guest guest
Mr. Red, Unless u experience urself , u will be asking others and referring to scriptures. and making borrowed concepts, thinking this or that is good. so, ask maa only. > Hi Richard, > > I agree with you. Guest guest
Ah! but you are forgetting something. MAA too manifest in many forms. In the form of scriptures and others. Rejecting the scriptures or concepts from others, is like rejecting MAA too. This is MAA's laila yes! Its good to ask. To find out from others. The point is you are given the brain to think. To rationalise for yourself. Must you accept everything that you see and hear. The point is when this EGO refuses to bow down before others, refusing to accept or acknowledge others concept, and get itself trap in its own illusion. Humility goes a long way. One of the many attributes of MAA herself, dont you agree litsol? , "litsol" <litsol wrote: > > Mr. Red, > > Unless u experience urself , u will be asking others and > referring to scriptures. and making borrowed concepts, thinking this > or that is good. > > so, ask maa only. > > > > > > Hi Richard, > > > > I agree with you. Guest guest
I m not rejecting any thing, any scripturs, rather, i m giving stress to not to spend life in reading scriptures and listening to other's, pls. try to have sth of ur own, think for it otherwise u or me, whosoever it is, just doing imaginations and nothing else I have read somewhere that just by purchasing medicines ur ilness is not removed and u dont get well, like wise, by repeating "Aham Brahmasmi" or assuming "I m the same god, or god is in everything" u dont get liberation. there is no room for imagination and assumption, read scriptures, and do it practically, know the engineering behind. or we will remain open to referring sth or the other and then thinking someone is bad or good coz his beliefs are having a cross with others, truth is only one, inspite of many hundreds explainations, so have a dip into realization and come up with true knowledge. also not to look at any person whether it's me or any one else, if he has done some sadhan or had some recognition or had realization, dont make someone hero and see urself bound to follow whatever he said. first and foremost thing is to ensure if our mind is free ? when i denied to meditate on maa durga, my guru said ok, u dont concentrate on any form of maa, i said it's what that i want, after i see her, i will meditate on her. so , all the time i chanted without meditation and one day she came to me, saying it's me. regards, Lalit. , "NMadasamy" <nmadasamy wrote: > > > > Ah! but you are forgetting something. Guest guest
Then you should have read the introduction in our group front page : "Make information available. Let people take it or leave it, think it is true or false, judge you as they think fit. Tell them: 'Come here if you like. Don't come if you don't like. Only try to see for yourself. Don't blindly accept what others say.'" ~ Sri Amritananda Natha Saraswati You see the word : DONT BLINDLY ACCEPT WHAT OTHERS SAY..." , "litsol" <litsol wrote: > > > I m not rejecting any thing, any scripturs, rather, i m giving stress > to not to spend life in reading scriptures and listening to other's, > pls. try to have sth of ur own, think for it otherwise u or me, > whosoever it is, just doing imaginations and nothing else > > I have read somewhere that just by purchasing medicines ur ilness is > not removed and u dont get well, like wise, by repeating "Aham > Brahmasmi" or assuming "I m the same god, or god is in everything" u > dont get liberation. > > there is no room for imagination and assumption, read scriptures, and > do it practically, know the engineering behind. > > or we will remain open to referring sth or the other and then > thinking someone is bad or good coz his beliefs are having a cross > with others, truth is only one, inspite of many hundreds > explainations, so have a dip into realization and come up with true > knowledge. > > also not to look at any person whether it's me or any one else, if he > has done some sadhan or had some recognition or had realization, dont > make someone hero and see urself bound to follow whatever he said. > > first and foremost thing is to ensure if our mind is free ? > > when i denied to meditate on maa durga, my guru said ok, u dont > concentrate on any form of maa, i said it's what that i want, after i > see her, i will meditate on her. so , all the time i chanted without > meditation and one day she came to me, saying it's me. > > regards, > Lalit. > > > > > , "NMadasamy" <nmadasamy@> > wrote: > > > > > > > > Ah! but you are forgetting something.
