It lies between Kumbakonam – Nannilam Bus route near PILAVADI. Sri Kathayee Amman, a family deity and Ishta Devata of thousands of people, resides in a small temple on the banks of the river Mudikondan in SITHAADI Village. It is an ancient temple which came into being hundreds of years ago. The statue of Sri Kathayee Amman was found in the Mudikondan river by a priest of that temple, which was identified by Sri Kathayee Amman herself. Sri Kathayee Amman is said to be incornation of "VALLI", wife of Lord Muruga. This famous temple is under complete renovation and the KUMBABISHEKAM is scheduled to be performed on 3rd April 2006. In addition to the expenditure already incurred, a sum of Rs.15 lakhs is needed to complete the work and perform the KUMBABISHEKAM. All devotees of Maa Sakthi are requested to contribute their might and receive the blessings of SHRI KATHAYEE AMMAN. All Devotees and Bakthas are requested to attend the Kumbabishekam.
