layakari : causing absorption.

Laya, a peculiar state of mind, for it is said, "Laya [mental

absorpiton] is equal to ten meditations". Laya also means a pause in

the music.

She is in the nature of Laya, the fifth state, beyond turIya. When

mental activity is totally still, Laya is experienced. She gives that

experience and She is that state, wherein the individual consciousness

becomes One with the Cosmic.

Sahasranama, 1962
