daurbhAgyatUlavAtUlA : The gale blowing away misfortune like thistle-

down [lit tufted seeds of reed]

Or vAtUla, certain good actions which make misfortune become as light

as the thistle-downs; the meaning is such actions originate from her

alone.

BhAskararAya's Commentary

Translated into English by R. Ananthakrishna Sastry.

She dispels the misfortune and poverty of Her devotees just as a gale

blows away shreds of cotton.
