Guest guest
So much depends upon the intention of the person saying this....or the situation. A "secret" is something "hidden". A secret can be as simple as a stone lying beside a path, something that is not "seen" except by the one who chooses to bend down and pick it up. A "secret" can also be used as a weapon, a way of excluding others, a way of being separate, special and "better-than". If I were phrasing the koan, I would put it very differently, "When everything is secret, open your eyes!" Nothing exists that is NOT sacred! Everything is a manifestation of Divine Consciousness into its "pairs of opposites". Having the eyes to see (through Grace) is the "secret". sadhvi >>"A famous phrase from my instructor that i took as a koan is: "When nothing is secret anymore, nothing is sacred anymore." This i just wanted to share. I appreciate your gentleness and generosity. Ralph"<<
