Notes:

The Maharashtrians celebrate Gudi padwa on first day of the Chaitra

month. Day welcome the New Year with this festival, which heralds the

coming of Spring. In Andhra Pradesh, it is believed that the creator

of the Hindu universe, Lord Brahma began his wonderful creation on

this auspicious day of Ugadi.
