Maa Kushmanda was worshipped on the fourth day of Navratri.

Thousands of devotees thronged the temples since early morning in

order to worship the deity who is related to the nature's gift of

giving birth. It is believed that all the sorrows of the worshippers

vanish with her blessings.

All the Devi temples in the city were embellished with flowers and

colourful lights. Shatchandi and Durga Saptashati path reverberated

in the environment. Hawans were also performed in the morning.

One of the significant siddhapeeths Maa Kalyani Devi is all decked

up for the occasion of Navratri. It is one of the prominent temples

where main rituals are being held. On the fourth day the entire

sanctum was embellished with the flowers of 'rajanigandha' and rose.

The shringar of Maa was done with the flowers of 'bela' and rose and

gold and silver jewellery added to the magnificence of the idol.

Devotees made a beeline to the temple since early morning and the

darshan continued till midnight.

Adding to the specialty of the event is musical discourse of

Ramcharitmanas which is performed by Balvyas Pandit Srikant Ji

Sharma who has been invited from Kolkata. Chandi Mahayagya is also

being performed in the temple each day.

According to Pandit Sushil Kumar Pathak, president of Mahashakti Maa

Kalyani Devi Ji Ka Mandir, on the fifth day Maa Skandmata will be

worshipped. "She cradles Shadanand and has four arms", added Pathak.

Devi temple on the fourth day. Hordes of devotees were also
