I like to help people to become able to find better answers on their own then they could before listening to my ideas or information. This needs active participation rather than passive perception. Now since you asked so nice you deserve that i begin with an answer from a real gentle sage; it was Sri Ramana Maharshi who said, after he was watching a tame squirrel who attempted to flee from his cage: Everybody wants to get out, Again and Again But Happiness is inside not out. All the spiritual Teachings should remind us to retrace our steps back to the primal source. We do not need to acquire something new we only have to give up our wrong Imaginations and useless Belongings Instead of doing this we try to acquire something extraordinary and mysterious because we believe that happiness is somwhere else. This is the problem. Before you can get an answer from me it is important that you understand your own question. Now what was it you asked me? The next step? Whereto? is it a step backward, loosing an illusion like Sri Ramana Maharshi said: a spiritual path is directed backwards? or do you think reaching Kali is like a love affair or worldly gain, a step forward to some other mysterious place or belonging? and what is KAli? a map of the way or the destination or both? and most interesting questions of all the 4 : why is she Digambari? Guest guest
Actually, he does mention 2 of his gurus: his senior guru maharaj and his junior guru maharaj. But your are definitely right to say that he did not belong to any sect or group. He claimed that his senior guru maharaj was the historical Dattatreya! Amazing as it sounds, but that is his claim, and thats what makes the books so interesting and controversial. Could look it up for you but Im kind of busy, anybody else have the quotes from the book? , "mahahradanatha" <mahahradanatha wrote: > > Dear Vir > í only say that Aghor sampradaya is a differnt path from what > Vimalananda taught, though he had gurus they where not from Aghor > sampradaya that he calls himself aghori doesn´t mean that he belongs > to Aghor Sampradaya. Guest guest
Thans for your reply though I didn´t read any of the books and could have been mistaken about the details i am glad i was right: that he (Vimalananda) had Gurus, but did not disclose their real identities (maharaj is not a name but a honorary title) nor to what tradition they belongend. Like i wrote he is most certainly not an Aghor, the title of one of the Books Aghora and that Vimalananda choose to call himself Aghori is a little misleading. Since Dattatreya is the Adi Guru (First Founder) of a lot if not all Sadhu Sampradayas, a sadhu identifies his personal Guru with Dattatreya. It is said that Immortal Siddhas especially Dattatreya and the NAvanaths do still physically appear today and met with mortals, according to different stories these meetings happen more frequently at certain pithas (Mount Girnar, Jwalamukhi) but also at other places. , "ckeniley2003" <ckeniley2003 wrote: > > Actually, he does mention 2 of his gurus: his senior guru maharaj > and his junior guru maharaj. Guest guest
Dearest Maharadanatha :-)) When I framed the question on what should be my next step, the theme of it was the post we communicted in, the Aghora and Nath paths, and so I wishedd to know what should be my next step to walk the Aghora and Nath paths. You have however, it seems to me, ignored this context and brought considerations to other aspects, which I believe are more relavant; certainly more so when the discussion on Svaboda found me standing in the shoes you are standing in now, and me in yours ;-) This is Kaali :-p with her tongue out. The most interesting question as to why Kali is Digambari, immediately reminded me of Krishna hiding the clothes of the Gopis as they bathed in the Jamuna. Now I know this has Kundalini significances, and while I have no mastery of this, I can imagine that bathing in the Ida channel the Lord takes away our gunas/coverings so that nothing stands between us and we can enjoy life (simply put). Well I also did a search on "why is Kali digambari" an popped open a rather interesting web-site http://www.greatdreams.com/anger.htm. My own feeling is that she is freedom. The next step is closer to Kaali. I always thought I had chosen her, but I feel humbled to think she has choosen me. I am quite prepared to let her lead the way (stated simply), and the only reason I am curious about Nath and Aghora is because I think I too need to make an effort to hold her hand, because I think I love her. This is as best as I can answer, my Friend. Guest guest
Dear Vir, I don´t know if you can find with the NAth and Aghor what you are looking for, like i wrote most are Shaivas, even if sometimes they regard both Shiva/Shakti as of similar importance, none i know off would say they are Shaktas except maybe some rare individuals. Nowadays i don´t know of a nath teacher i can recommend it seems all great naths are dead, like Shankar Maharaj, or Nityananda or shirdi sai baba, gopinath ji, gajanan maharaj. Guest guest
Dear Mahahradanatha, Thank you my Friend for letting me know about the Aghora and Natha paths, and also for your concern in not being able to recommend a good Teacher in either tradition. You are most kind. I should allow the Divine Mother to guide me, and see she has, through you :-)) Smiles, Vir mahahradanatha <mahahradanatha wrote: Dear Vir, I dont know if you can find with the NAth and Aghor what you are looking for, like i wrote most are Shaivas, even if sometimes they regard both Shiva/Shakti as of similar importance, none i know off would say they are Shaktas except maybe some rare individuals. Guest guest
Ha!!!!!!!! Vir have eventually learn. I am abt to say : why dont you let Devi decides for herself who should be the guru for you. Intially you say : I surrender to HER then you go on saying : but I like to have this guru and not the other. Why are you trying to tell her what to do? Just a note : all your messages including your email have been read by Bhasurananda Natha himself. **** smiles **** , Vir Rawlley <redderred wrote: > > Dear Mahahradanatha, > > Thank you my Friend for letting me know about the Aghora and Natha paths, and also for your concern in not being able to recommend a good Teacher in either tradition. I doon't suppose it matter past making a connection with the original lineage. Beyond that, it's not like something is going to make a difference to the most advaita of all people - the Aghora. Guest guest
Original Nath tradition (a Kaula one of Matsyendra) is still existing in Maharashtra and Himachal, though in minority. Most of common day nathas are gorakhnathis, these are easily found in Gorakhpur and many places. But i do not think there is much use to go there. Guest guest
I agree, all this sectarian factionalism and fighting is of no interest, a teacher is "functional" if he is an inspiration to others, most of the teachers i mentionend didn´t even bother to be very specific about their origin. I am shure there are great nath and Aghor teachers around also today but i do not have the good fortune to know one. Guest guest
Dear Mahamuni, My comment was only about my personal situation, that i cannot be of any help to Vir, because the famous naths i heard of and those i knew have entered Mahasamadhi, and sadly i haven´t been anywhere near India for the last 20 years. Of course there must be still great Naths around. Mahahradanatha , "Mahamuni" <mahamuni wrote: > > There are still so many great Naths left.
