Guest guest
mantrininyastarAjyadhUh : Who has entrusted her kingdom to Mantrini. Mantrini, SyAmalAmbA. The BrahmA. Pr. says speaking about RAjasyAmalA, "The care of the dominion and of the saktis of LalitA, the supreme ruler, all are in the power of Mantrini". Or mantrini, those who worship {Devi] by mantra, or mantra is a pure thought, because it has the quality of protecting the man during meditation. Those who possess this are called mantrinis. Mantrini, a certain effort which leads them to union with Bhagavati; in that effort depends the power of attaining universal dominion. The meaning is the attainment of unity by devotees and Yogins depends upon Devi alone. The Siva-Sutras [iI. 2 and 3] says :"Thought is mantra; effort is the means; knowledge is the body: and manifestation is the secret of the mantra". The holy KrsnadAsa explains the Sutras as follows :"Thought, by this the supreme truth of the Self is experienced. Thus the thought is the experienc of the grace of the manifested Self. Thought is mantra. The same experience is thought secretly, ie Isvara and one's own nature without distinction, hence it is called mantra. It is called mantra because through their teachers by the manifested qualities of the Self meditated upon, the complete egoism [pUrnAhamtA], and by the power of protecting through destruction of samsarA. The man attains equal-mindedness by divine experience through the mantra. The thought of the aspirant also is called mantra for it has union with that quality. The effort of fixing the mind continously on the mantra just said above which has the wuality of protecting the man during [meditation] is called prayatna [effort] Prayatna means internal agitation; this alone it means. Thus the man who practises the mantra attains the unity with deity [the Self]. The Yoogin who practises thus obtains the power of the mantra, which makes him for ever continue meditation on the pUrnAhamtA as said above. VidyA, the experience of the highest unity. Body the divine hosts of words. Manifestation of the pUrnAhamtA in all directions. That is the meditation by the mantras which have the power of protecting one. Secret, that is a secret to ordinary people" KsemarAja who also comments on at length on the above sUtras. BhAskararAya's Commentary Translated into English by R. Ananthakrishna Sastry. Guest guest
This makes me wonder, is there a goddess who is inside and outside of everything at once? Mahakali? I would think. Like the coconut, My Queen. I once asked Mahakali if she was everything then she must have also been me. I said, so show me your real form. I said, in thirty second I will open my eyes and see you. Whether it scares me to death or not. Show me yourself Mahakali. And I was lying on my stomach with an arm raised and a leg raised like her. I opened my eyes and there was not another vision. But then I noticed my posture. It was hers!!! - Devi Bhakta Saturday, April 15, 2006 5:31 PM Re: LalithA SahasranAma [786] mantrininyastarAjyadhUh She entrusts the regions of Her kingdom to Her minister, Raja- Syamala [also known as Mantrini, or Matangi]. Guest guest
SHE is what one perceives and worships as! And SHE is everywhere. Lalitha, BAla, VArahi, MAthangi, KAli.....same difference. Moola mantras change....amsams change depending on the sadhaka's wishes (as guided by HER). Eventually it is HER. There is a mantra in DevathodhvAsanam of Sri Vidya..... Ganesha Graha Nakshathra Yogini RAsi RoopiNim, Devi Mantramayi noumi MAtrhuka peeta RoopiNim.... SHE is Ganesha, 9 planets and stars (as in Hindu zodiac), the 6 yoginis, 12 zodical signs, in the form of mantra, as in 50 aksharas and in the form of peetas....etc which sums up everything under HER protection (dominion). Within or Without does not make any change. Happy Easter to you as well. I am not of Christian religion. But, a holy day in different religion does not mean to me that I cannot accept and reciprocate greetings. But, I must admit, it will be just another day for me, just like any day of the week, my birthday, Diwali, Navrathri, X-mas, New Years' days (in plural), etc....
