puskarA : Lotus

Puska, nourishment, ra, recover. PuskarA is the deity of Puskara

Tirtha. As there is no difference between ra and la, puskalA, means

complete.

BhAskararAya's Commentary

1. She is the most auspicious or important moment in any given

duration of time.

2. She is the presiding deity of the sacred waters called Puskara.

3. Alternatively, puskarA may be read as puskala, i.e. She is

Fullness.

- Dr. C. Suryanarayana Murthy, Commentary on the Sri Lalita

Sahasranama, 1962
