Criteria for Astanga Teacher

Having seen nuberous Astanga yoga teachers, I was

wondering what some people on this board thought were some

of the criteria for being a teacher. Is it something

that is self ordained or must one be appointed a

teacher? Must one be able to do certain asanas or have

practiced for a certain amount of time? Or are any of these

things not necessary, or absolutely necessary? Also not

having any real standard for what a yoga teacher should

have or be in America, what are some oppinions.
