Guest guest
As far as motivation goes, I have a hard time
getting myself to practice, but I have found
that the best way to practice outside of a
class is to get together with someone else.
I am lucky enough to get to go to four classes a week. When I practice on my own I get distracted
a lot and also tend to do shorter sessions and
get into more of an "Iyengar" approach, holding
postures for a long time (which is good for me).
To actually get through a whole primary series
workout, I sometimes will practice along with
a video. But there have been times when one or
more people have come over to practice, and it
suddenly becomes just like being in class -
you just do it. It doesn't matter if its one
person or two or three or if they are beginners
or advanced. This works better for me if you are trying to practice together, rather than Mysore style, with everyone going off on their own. So I would recommend finding someone to practice with
or even getting a regular practice group going.

Good luck,
Terry Slade
