Guest guest
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly! I appreciate your input on this. I really do want to continue with the ashtanga yoga for a number of reasons, one main one being that I don't have to have any equipment other than a sticky mat (and a folded blanket for some things),I'm in better shape even than when I was weight training, and the fact that I feel different on an energetic level than any of the other disciplines that I've engaged in. You're right about weight training being a possible hindrance to flexibility, which is another reason why I really wish to continue with the ashtanga yoga. As far as my progress, in the primary series, I've gotten through the standing series and am beginning the forward bending asanas that follow the standing ones, and I do the last four asanas at the end(the closing series). I'm practicing 5 days a week(want to get that up to six, consistently!) So I guess the answer to this is to keep at it! I know that yoga is not a "quick fix", and I do have a vision of myself in the future as one of those old ladies who is really clear and ageless. Again, thanks for the help; this club is great - I do read messages almost every day!
