Guest guest
Hey Liz,

There are some photos posted at a Ashtanga studio's website on the Gold Coast of Australia of a very pregnant woman doing postures so you may be interested in getting a hold of her or checking out the site. Sorry I can't be more specific but best of luck and hope it goes smoothly!

Guest guest
Guruji also said to avoid practicing 3 months before giving birth and 3 months afterwards. However, he did show the class some pictures of a woman who practiced many Intermediate Series asanas (amazing picture of her in kapotasana) up through labor. This is not advisable, of course, unless one is already quite advanced before becoming pregnant, and plus, this woman was closely supervised by Guruji during the gestation period. Guest guest
If you can track down Tim Miller's email address (sorry, i don't have it handy) you might give your questions re yoga and pregnancy to his wife. She's been doing astanga and teaching pre-natal yoga for years.
Guest guest
At our studio we have many students who participate in the pregancy classes. It is a modified Astanga practice - and may not be for the die-hard traditionalist, but I am sure Sue, the instructor, would be happy to give you some feedback. Some of her general guidlines are up on our site. (yogavermont.com)
