Guest guest
John Berlinsky is worth the trip to Mill Valley.

Just avoid the criminals and profiteers at It's Yoga. They have no idea what they are doing and since you are starting intermediate, they won't be able to teach you because they can't even do primary themselves.

SPW
Guest guest
I wish I could recommend someone to study with in the Bay area. True, Rolf was there, but he's gone now, and so goes the only really good astanga instructor in the Bay Area IMO (that I've encountered anyway). True, there are many "astanga" classes, but most every one you'll find is McYoga, modified, squeezed into a 1 1/2 hour tops session kind of stuff. Not bad if you're an absolute beginner, but it ain't the real deal.

I took one class with Tim Thompson. I don't recommend his classes. He doesn't teach astanga yoga.

The last rumor of Guruji visiting the States . . . hey, we all have our secrets! I'm not about to spoil a good scene in my area if it so happens that the rumor (the plans actually) turns into fact.
Guest guest
I had forgotten John Berlinsky.

I took a class with him many years ago . .. . I suppose I'd recommend him over the other Bay Area teachers.
