Guest guest Posted March 2, 2000 Report Share Posted March 2, 2000 I wonder if someone can offer advice concerning a vinyasa challenge I'm facing.<br><br>In videos I see Dave Swenson pull himself up into handstand from the seated lolasana position, and in his practice manual he says this is the vinyasa we are to aim for between successive repetiions of navasana. I also notice that in his jumpbacks he appears to keep his arms straight just a bit longer than I do. To get that slow "floaty" feeling, I have to bend at the elbows almost immediately upon moving back: I can't seem to lift up enough to float back otherwise.<br><br>So how does one develop such a powerful lift? Well, he asserts it is his bandhas working combined with drishti and breath. He has practiced for years and makes 3rd and 4th series of asanas look effortless. I highly recommend checking out his workshops. He gave the most impressive demonstration of advanced series asanas I've ever seen. Guest guest Posted March 2, 2000 Report Share Posted March 2, 2000 I've seen Danny Paradise do this feat with effortless ease, and I've also studied Richard Freeman's video, in slow motion, to see just how he's able to lift himself into handstand from this position.
