Guest guest
I like you Senor because I believe it was your provocative remarks that brought life to this club- now with that said- I'd like to ask a question:

If we are looking beyond the asana part of yoga and are trying to apply yoga to our lives- isn't it important to be mindful of our actions, to not be harmful in anyway. I am certain that a definite byproduct of yoga is that it has made me a lot more sensitive to the garbage that comes out of my mouth- and let me tell you- I've been the queen of garbage and while I'm still no angel, lately gossip and dissing people- especially dissing people I don't know just feels all around icky to me. I don't understand how you, a person who I assume is practicing Ashtanga yoga and evidently fortunate enough to mingle with the best, can feel good about these posts where people are called names and generally trashed. Certainly there's a way to express your opinions and point people in pure Ashtanga directions without being so hurtful.

Don't worry - Anyone who is truly interested in Ashtanga will find the right path. I've had teachers on the list and not on it who inspire me. My yoga library has Yoga Mala, BBB, Ashtanga Manual, Moving into Stillness, Yoga Sutras, yoga journals, print outs from the internet, etc all happily thrown in the same box- does that make me a fraud? To you maybe- but me, I'm hungry for all this and cannot learn enough. I can separate what's right or wrong for me as I think anyone who delves into this subject can- to trample someone in the name of enlightening them cannot possibly be yoga.

And re all those "evil" Yoga profiteers- I've got news for you honey, this is the real world. I've yet to attend a class from certified instructors that did not cost me under $12 American. If you are a dedicated class goer you are easily looking at a grand a year in yoga tuition. I would just LOVE it if a dollar of a class fee went to a charity- but I have yet to knowingly take a class where this was the case. Is using a Mysore rug made by a prisoner any worse then driving your car that has a license plate made by a jail inmate? Everytime you post a note on this board, someone down the line is profiting- your ISP, an advertiser, a marketter....I don't have any problem with profit, in fact, as a business person, I quite appreciate it.

yours in yoga

sue
