Guest guest
Hello all,

I love practicing astanga yoga, and am grateful to all the people who created the tradition and introduced me to it.

However, when I read some posts on this board, It makes me sad.

If you take every work that Guruji said ( or is claimed to have said ) as correct, then you are turning him into a god, and astanga yoga into a religion.

Having deduced that Guruji is not god, I definately don't want to follow his words dogmatically. ( Especially since I don't know what he actually says, and what is just ruomers and heresay )

My teacher, Beryl Bender Birch, Larry Schults and whoever else, may not preach Guruji's words exactly ( Although I say MAY, I haven't personally verified the truth or otherwise of the negative posts that have been posted here.)
But I still want to be open to their wisdom. And in the end make up my own mind, based on my own experiences and circumstances.

For me the whole point of yoga is to expand my limits. Not to create more artificial ones.

Liz
