Does anyone have a problem with a hip joint that pops?

In doing several of the forward bends, mostly the

floor series ones, I find that until my teacher comes

and adjusts me (that is to say, pushes me into the

pose until my hip pops), I can't get down into the

asana as far as I am able to, flexibility-wise.

<br><br>Whew, sorry about that run on sentence ... the question

really is, is there something I can do to get that hip

socket to co-operate better, like an exercise or

something? I find that just opening the hips and legs a lot

doesn't seem to get the hip to undo what it's doing. It's

only in certain directions that I feel no "give", and

it's only in one side ... it's hard to find that spot

where it's doing it. <br><br>Is the hip a

ball-and-socket joint? I forget what all the different kind of

joints are ...<br><br>C.
