Guest guest
Having been at the scene that was transmitted 2nd hand via Larry Schultz, let me say Larry was not there. What the San Diego County sheriff's office discovered was nothing. If you believe a language barrier will stop the US law, come to an airport when they are flying out a planeload of illegals, many of whom claim not to be able to or actually cannot speak English. Speaking the language is not a prerequisite for prosecution in our land.

Guruji is a man from another time, a Brahmin priest, and if you are afraid to have him touch you, the solution is simple, stay home! There are others, including his son, Manju and list of others who will teach in a way that may be acceptable. I've watched Guruji do backbends with many women and he touches them as he does. I've never seen him slapped or a look of horror on a students face during the process. Most are thrilled to have been taken through the process. Would I let my daughter train with him? Absolutely.

As far as adjustments in general, the one tool that has saved me through all of his series was "exhale", or "loose it", in the guru's words. Though hundreds of sessions, I was only injured once and it was a fleeting thing. In an "A" class while in Ganda Bherundasana, Guruji was holding my feet to the floor in front of my face, some how I was too far forward on a blanket and my windpipe was blocked, I blacked out while still in the posture. Guruji let me go, maybe because he thought I was holding my breath. My next sensation was my feet slaming to the floor behind me. Next I recalled being put into matsyasana or "fish" completely by him as I was still mostly out and then Guruji commanding "breathe"! I did and slowly came back and was told to lay in savasana for 15 minutes. Other than blowing away the rest of the class, I suffered little more than a minor pull of some back muscles and was back at class the next day. The point? Yes, Guruji may be tough with his students but I see him as one of the most brillant coaches I've ever had. He also may be a little too crude for some. He will not be with us for long, even if it is another 15 years. A chance to train with him is a once in a lifetime shot. You can be comfortable with some of his politically and socially correct students as teachers but you will never experience the prana this man is capable of sending through you.

Good luck with your practice.
