Guest guest
The confusion with 's' and 'sh' is largely caused by transliteration of sanskrit text to roman text. There are actually three forms of 's' based sound in Sanskrit, two which sound like 'sh' and one which sounds more like 's'. The different sounds are made by placing the tongue in different positions in the mouth. The 'sh' sound of Astanga if correctly transliterated should be written as an 'S' with a dot underneath it - the dot is a diacritic mark which is not really possible with ordinary western wordprocessors! Have a look at Lino Mieles book where much of the sanskrit is tranliterated and the diacritic marks are included.
Guest guest
The mantra is provided on Richard Freeman's Yoga Workshop website (along with an MP3 file of a class following Richard's lead in reciting it).

http://www.yogaworkshop.com/
