Guest guest
i would have to disagree that using NSAIDs is harmful. use of that class of drug will not "deaden" the kind of acute discomfort that comes from pushing a joint/ligament to the "edge". <br>NSAIDS do offer the benefit of reducing some of the inflammation that results from exertion. often, the body's response to local injury--inflammation--causes more injury than the original problem. NSAIDs reduce the discomfort after exertion and reduce development of fibrosis, calcification and micro-scarring that occurs with chronic exertion. taking and aspirin or low dose motrin prior to practice, or if you have an especially sensitive stomach, after practice when you have something to eat, will reduce your discomfort over the next few days. judicious use of those meds has clear benefit, injudicious use clearly has its consequences
