Guest guest
Mahaaryan Tail contains sesame oil as a base and over 30 herbal medicinals. We are trying to create a dialog about the experience-base of the people in this club - yoga teachers and doctors are among them. I have tried MT with some success. The person recommending it, (Sri K. Pattabhi Jois) is certainly an experienced Yoga teacher.

General advice on helpful substances:
My doctor said that proteins are generally important in the diet to rebuild and heal cartilage. I had cravings for and ate cheese and fish for a while. In addition I took large doses of Glucosamine, chondroitin sulfate, and MSM. I believe these supplements have great benefit. A sample website where these standard Joint- and Bone-health supplements can be ordered is

http://www.21centurysports.com/bone.htm

(I get no percentages or anything)
- or you can get them at your health food store.

I also used shark-cartilage (I prefer Vegetarian diet - I think it is very important - especially in the beginning - but I don't consider it the most important aspect in a yogic lifestyle: Everybody and every condition - Samaya - is different and one needs to be able to adapt!) and I applied DMSO gel topically after reinjury, which gave immediate pain relief (try this at your own risk, and if you do, use a small amout first to determine if you have any adverse reactions to the solvent).
