Guest guest
Anyone attending in NY please tell how it goes.

In France we were around 80 people altogether some for one week, most for both. We were from France, Spain, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, US, UK, Germany, Greece etc. Guruji was happy and healthy, even if he had to cope with the rainy and quite cold French summer. Saraswati and Sharath likewise.

The first week took place in Lille in the house of Phillipe Mons, the second week in Phillippe's farm in the countryside near the ocean. Many of the french yogis have been students of guruji for 10-15-20+ years and it was a blessing to be around so much wisdom and discover an astanga yoga comunity that has existed for so long.

Guruju did count out 2 classes (primary)every morning at 7 and 8:30, 2 days he even did an extra class for intermediate series students. Always happy and warm, and all us who managed to get informations about the workshop or just showed up in good trust, had this rare opportunity to meet guruji and feel his very special presense. A deep and wonderfull meeting took place. Thank you guruji for coming to us.
Guest guest
Hello All!!!

We just finished the first week of practice in NY with Guruji and and happy to say he is happy and healthy. Though a bit tired from so much traveling.
There are two classes in the morning. Full Primary Series at a.m. and an abbreviated Primary at 8 where he stops the class at Navasana and concludes with finishing asanas...I believe lotus, then savasana. Each class has over 150 students!!!! They are from the east coast mainly with some west coast folk in there as well. The energy in class is amazing and it is quite a spectacle to watch so many yogis practicing in sync. He has refused to use a P.A. system so he is conducting the class using the power of his own voice...fortunately the hall has major reverberation so his voice carries and he is loud.

The birthday celebration last week was great success. Guruji was the guest of honor at the Ganesh puja which lasted about an hour and a half at Eddie's studio, then recieved gifts from students at the reception hall, where the workshop is held. Many students gave him flowers and garlands, I think he also got a lot of coffee and chocolate. He left early that night to rest but everyone was really happy and ate good south Indian food. There was a documentary crew there to document the event so hopefully most of you will have a chance to see it when it is completed. We'll let you know when it airs and/or becomes available.

more later....

hari om

irinji
