Guest guest
Hey bad lady, do you see really a difference between ashtanga and power-yoga? Of course I see the philosophical background of ashtanga and at the other side the physical way in poweryoga to do something for the own body without reading sutras. But I see also the same way (asanas) that will change not only the bodies of the participants - whatever method they do; it seems only a different name for the same thing. Both are doing nearly the same and the little difference in some posture cannot be so important to change the benefit.
And it seems there are people like Senor XY who say there is only one way to enlightenment and only ashtanga-yoga is ashtanga. The sky is blue in US like in China although in Chinese they call it in a different way. So what?... Lu
Guest guest
Maybe someone who is enamoured with Power Yoga can explain to the rest here what it is?
I recall the sayings: "Nomen est Omen" (The name is the secret key). And of course "Power corrupts - absolute power corrupts absolutely".
Power-Yoga = Corruption Yoga?

Guest guest
Astanga yoga is a living tradition age old, it is a philosophy of life. Power "yoga" is a new American invention. To me the difference can not be much bigger.
