Guest guest
One more try:

What is the difference between you and the image of you in a mirror? Please think it over before you keep on insisting that you are identical.

At a first glance you and your mirrored image might seem exacly the same, but - please - you are not. The very essense of your nature is so different that you can not even compare. (A living creature and a mineral).

No matter what happens to the mirror (you can break it, sell it, turn it around, paint it black, what ever) it DOES NOT AFFECT YOU AT ALL, you still exist as before - you are still of flesh and blood, you can talk, think, grow old, use a computer, etc. - things that your image can never do.

If you on the other hand walk away from the mirror, tell me what is left of your mirrored image? Yes, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING !! The image does only exist because of you, and even then it only shows part of your surface.

A superficial copy of a living tradition is and can never be the real thing. Astanga yoga is so much more than asana practice, but unless you give it a serious try (i.e. pratice instead of keeping on reading books) you will never know.

in deep respect of your eagerness,

tutu
