Guest guest
"The experiential fact is that the different technical aspects of Hatha Yoga are not seperate from each other. A profound study of any one of them will lead an open-minded student to all of the others. Therefore the so-called different styles of Hatha Yoga are not absolutely distinct from each other. They complement and even support each other. Hatha Yoga is like a diamond. Although its different facets face in different directions, they support each other, while both containing and leading to its inner sanctum: self-realization."
-- Godfrey Devereaux, "Dynamic Yoga"

This is so beautifully said .. . . well, I just had to quote it. Since I'm a relative newcomer to Ashtanga, I see attitudes in this world that are a bit flummoxing. Some of them look suspiciously look pride to me -- but I'm trying to truly understand.

Ashtanga is clearly a powerful and unique system of meditation in motion. . . but why does it have to be the only one we can talk about as practitioners?

Thanks for your thoughts,
Robyn
