Guest guest
that quote just isn't true. Guruji is very clear that pranyama and meditation are only practiced after completing Advanced A and B (3rd and 4th series). Primary just deals with disease, Intermediate works on the nervous system, Advaced steadies the mind and then you can work on your Nirvana.

There are no spiritually get rich quick schemes.

Cheers
Guest guest
So if you can't get past primary series you're SOL? Sorry couldn't resist...
Guest guest
the peak of yoga experience is Samadhi - bliss.

Yes, some are born through the work of previous incarnations to experience these things without effort in this lifetime.

A story Eric Shiffman tells in his book "Moving into Stillness" touched me:

He tells how he studied meditation with Krishnamurti for a lengthy period of time without great success. Then after taking his first Hatha Yoga class with BKS Iyengar he fell into a blissful Shavasana. " You see, said BKS - in one session I showed you Samadhi" *

*apologies to Eric S and BKS for my paraphrazing.
Guest guest
Thank you guydonahaye--very inspiring. Those small moments of pure bliss are enough for me. I'm not ready to float away permanently yet!
Guest guest
besides being the root-teacher teacher of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, B.K.S Iyengar, and Desicachar, I think Krishnamacaria also instructed e.g. Jiddu Krishnamurti, H.H. the Dalai Lama, and many others; is it correct that he held and passed on transmission lineages from Tibetan Vajrayana, Ayurveda, and Chinese Taoist Yogic lineages to some students? - Can someone recommend sources about details in these matters?
