Dirk

I have heard those kind of stories

too, and they made me nervous about going to

Mysore.

I already had a fairly bad knee injury when I went

to Gurui's workshop in NY. This wasn't caused by any

adjustments from teachers - I had brought it upon myself by

being too attached to being able to do the outward form

of padmanasana postures. So I was quite worried

about Guruji adjusting me on the injured side, which he

did several times.

My actual experience was

that he was very sensitive and gentle with my injury.

On a couple of days there were almost total

beginners near me n the workshop, and he was also very

gentle and patient with those people (I guess he

probably doesn't get to see many beginners in Mysore and

he seemed to really enjoy spending time with

them).

Maybe he's different at home, or with more advanced

students. But having experienced The Man in action I have

no fears now about going to Mysore. I hope to make

it over there next year.
