Guest guest
Can anyone please provide more information on injuries as openings? Specifically, I have been dealing with a lingering shoulder injury (left side) for months. Non yoga physical types say ease off, but yoga folks say continue to practice.

I don't know how it's possible to maintain my practice and ease off my shoulder. The pain moves around, from the front to the top to the back and up toward the neck, sometimes the pain throbs, and when in pain the area is hot to the touch. I hear creaking and cracking whenever I move the joint.

Any advice on dealing with this would be greatly appreciated.

And to SPW, glad to see you have changed your tune on David Swenson, from whose workshop I have just returned. When he teaches, he does so from his heart, and that is something that may be the hardest thing to learn, maybe impossible to learn. He seemed recharged from his time in NYC with Guguji (and it was his birthday last week).

Another way-off aside:
Someone asked about celebs in NY: Beyond all the yoga luminaries mentioned, in the first week my friends practiced with Gwyneth Paltrow (sp?). They said they thought Madonna had advised her to take it up. Hollywoodification continues...
Also Mike something from the Beastie Boys, whom they told me is extremely dedicated.
