Guest guest
look at a series of posts back in the 1181 to 1184 range, i think. most here seem to feel that the freeman and swenson videos are good instructional videos. the yoga works video, with PBJ leading 6 teachers thru the series is also excellent. for the most orthodax, rigorous video, try the lino miele video. T slade's web site at http://www.ionet.net/~tslade/yoga.htm has excellent links to get all these. kudos here to mr slade for an excellent reference site. that's a lot of work. it has made my use of the net much more efficient
Guest guest
Hi aerowbx2u

When I moved to a place w/out Ashtanga classes, I used David Swenson's audio tape to learn first series by heart. I found that it still gave me the verbal cues which I needed w/out the distraction of having to watch a video while practicing. I also am a bit of an insomniac so instead of counting sheep, I would recite the sanskrit names and that helped seal the deal. I don't think it took more than a month or so to wean away from the tape.

I wish you all the best in keeping up your self practice- it's hard, its lonely and confusing sometimes, but it has certainly been worth it.

sue
