Guest guest
Hi,

I've been reading the messages on this club for some time and thought I'd finally post. Recently the debate over what counts as authentic, traditional ashtanga practice has become the dominant theme. Could someone at Guruji's Boulder or upcoming Encinitas workshops perhaps ask him about some of these issues and relay it back? I'd especially like to know what he thinks of teachers to whom he has given approval to teach but who modify the series to accomodate beginners, like Swenson is said to have done (since I rely heavily on his manual). Does he mind their modifications or trust and approve their judgement? I'd also like to know if he still considers the Yoga Mala to be definitive, even if he teaches the series differently now. If he doesn't, does he plan on writting an updated version? As a relative beginner myself (3-5 times a week for 2 years with some unfortunate periods of samskara sloth) I would like to know how flexible Guruji's standards may or may not be. Since I can't make it to any of the workshops if someone could ask I would appreciate it.

Thanks
