Guest guest
asana and pranayama must be applied without violence, ahimsa, with sensitivity to what becomes apparent. they must be applied honestly, satya, responding to what becomes apparent, and nothing else. they must be applied without grasping, asteya, accepting what becomes apparent. they must be applied judiciously, brahmacharya, without dispersing or wasting energy. they must be applied generously, with neither prejudice nor preference, aparigraha, without identifying with what does or does not occur. they must be applied with total commitment, sauca, free from hesitation, hedging or holding back. they must be applied willingly, samtosa, without resentment, anxiety, or doubt. they must be applied with passion, tapas, with a burning enthusiasm that eclipses the possibility of force or imposition. they must be applied as a process of open enquiry, svadhyaya, of selfreflection.they must be applied with devotion, pranidhana, gratitude and love towards that which occurs. then pranayama may lead to pratyahara to dharana to dhyana to samadhi. but the only way to find out, that i’m aware of, is to apply yama&niyama to asana and pranayama, regularly, consistently.
