Guest guest
All of you yogis who have long hair: what do you do with it during practice?

My hair is a little past my shoulders, and I've never been able to stand having it down when I do anything that generates heat. Usually I just put it in a scrunchie before practice, and then loosen the scrunchie before asanas requiring me to lie on my back (otherwise my head would be resting on the ponytail, instead of on the floor).
Other ideas I've played with include doing it in two tails, one on each side, so they don't need to be adjusted for when I'm on my back- but if my hair got too much longer these could be dangling right around my hands as I move through chaturanga dandasana!

And, regardless of what I do, I inevitably get strands working loose and hanging in my eyes, tending to take my attention away from my gaze.

What are your favorite methods, short of scissors, of keeping your hair off the back of your neck and out of the way during practice?

Namaste,
bodysings (who would shave her head for every practice if she could have it all grow back afterwards)
