Guest guest
with Mr. Iyengar and did not read his article where he claimed to have made up the Asanas. I have never really had much interest in taking an Iyengar class as all the practioners struck me as pansiesl. If your statement that Iyengar took credti for inventing the yoga postures is true, then everyone must watch the 1938 video of him and Krishnamacharya.

In his youth, before he was corrupted by commercialist pursuit, Mr. Iyengar was a great ASHATANGA YOGI. It is there in black and white for the world to see as he performs beautiful poses from second and third series with vinyasa.

If so then, Mr. Iyengar is potentially the greatest yoga fraud of all time having mastered the advanced postures and studying with the great master, then watering it down for anal retentive americans and taking credit for developing the postures himself.

I think this board should have a mock trial on the criminality of Mr. BKS Iyengar.

Thank you for bringing to my attention such a potentially egregious example of yoga fraud.

I will check my files and put out a few inquiries with my operatives in the field, and look into this matter immediately.

Names are being taken, lists are being made.

ESPW
Guest guest
I have seen that video and it's really amazing. But I think you have to read the sutras fully and a lot of Mr Iyengar's writings to see how he developed his total insistence on perfection of alignment in the poses to get deeper and deeper into them "firmly, to find therein joy" and to reach the point where "the effort becomes effortless" and "dualities disappear" so that the turnings of thought cease. The vinyasa became a distraction, not a link. Afterall, the purpose of dedicated zealous practice in both systems is the same, to "achieve samadhi and overcome the 5 klesas."
Namaste
