Guest guest
Though I have no personal experience with the drug, I support laprodox's professional and personal opinions on ibuprofen.

Why? Because over and over again, I've seen the limitations of even the most assiduously applied Nature Cure method, whether it be of yoga, food, or what-have-you.

Let's give up our romantic notions and rationally focus on what works. Guest guest
To what rigid concept do you refer? Certainly we do not devote outselves to the practice of yoga in order to live our lives in pain. There doesn't seem to be any rigid concept in ashtanga regarding using an acetominophen once in a while. It is just... people (myself included)bring their ambitions and their impatience to yoga and it causes pain. To ignore the pain or to sate ones' self with medication to "get through" it is to deny yourself the benefits of yoga - it is to go to school but ignore the lesson. Yoga mirrors life. Ibuprophen and aceteminophen cannot remove impatience and ambition from a person, only the symptom. Most (injury related) physical pain in yoga is a symptom of such underlying emotional causes. There is certainly nothing wrong with using medication that I can see, but as a means to improve your yoga, that seems ill-advised. This is what I understood the doctor to have suggested. Guest guest
trayam

everytime this stuff is taken, there is internal bleeding.

It is a DRUG!(even if it is over the counter).

(There is a PLACE for drugs and surgery - for instance when one breaks a leg you won't do an enema and sip a greendrink.)But think it through.

Imagine having a green drink before and/or after practice. It does the same thing. NO BLEEDING.

It is magnesium and calcium in its natural state that does wonders and removes all pain by allowing the muscles to relax (this is a science of which i'm no expert, but some minerals convert into others once taken - there are books on the subject).

If muscles ache after yoga - they are not sufficiently fed and don't relax. a Greendrink alkalinizes the body moving by moving the lactic acid out of the muscle. The muscle then no longer aches.

No drugs required. And i am relieved that people sat up and took note and responded to this scary advice.

But to our DOC: - go about it by putting the green drink to the test. Start with cucumber/celery and add ginger for flavor or radish. This won't be too bitter. And when you're pleased with the result you can start to help others that trust in you for advice. Guest guest
For some people ibuprofen may be a helping factor for some people.

As far as what I consider rigid, your opinions are somewhat different from those who had earlier replyed to the doc. Guest guest
I respect your opinion, and to a large extent agree with you -- generally speaking, I believe it's always best to go natural first rather than immediately depend on help from drugs.

I'm just noting that there are exceptions to the notion of "drugs bad, natural good." That's been my experience.
